SCENE 01 / MONITOR VIDEO VILLAGE SETUPS

Monitor & Video Village

Professional on-set monitoring and video village solutions for film and TV production in France.

Scroll

A video village is one central viewing station where directors, clients, and department heads watch live camera feeds during the shoot. Most builds pair large monitors with signal routing, wireless receivers, and a comfortable space for live review and quick decisions.

We design and deliver each video village around your viewing needs and your set layout. Our team handles monitor calibration, signal routing, and the furniture. The village is ready and comfortable from the first day of principal photography.

Video village and on-set monitoring builds in France

The video village is where the day's decisions get made. On French shoots that station has to work on a Cité du Cinéma stage and under a tent on a windy Provence vineyard alike. We design full builds — director station, client viewing area, reference monitors, weather tents, climate control, and comfortable seating for long sessions. The gear comes from TSF, RVZ, and Be4Post. Teradek Bolt 4K and multi-camera receivers carry wireless feeds across the set at sub-1ms latency.

Each village is shaped around the real viewing need. An agency client on a Paris commercial wants a different chain than a feature director cutting in their head during a Marseille port sequence. Reference monitors are calibrated to your show LUT for an accurate on-set preview, and remote viewing with secure streaming can reach studio executives in Lyon or further afield. Instant playback with frame-accurate review feeds the same monitors. You receive a fully tested, joined-up video village, delivered, installed, and supported by a French tech contact through each shooting day.

FAQ

Video Village Expertise

What does a complete video village setup include?

A full video village has reference monitors (mostly 17-32 inch), a director's monitor station, and a client viewing area with comfortable seating. It also adds a weather tent for exteriors, wireless video receivers, a playback system, and a link to production communications. We scale the setup to match your production needs.

What wireless video systems do you provide?

We supply pro wireless video, including Teradek Bolt 4K systems, multi-camera receivers, and long-range transmission setups. These run up to 4K with very little latency. Our team tunes antenna placement for the challenges of your location.

Can you support remote client viewing?

Yes. We set up remote viewing so agency and studio clients can watch the shoot from anywhere. Options cover secure streaming, private lines, and recorded dailies sent out with timecode reference.

How do you handle exterior video village setups?

For exterior shoots, we provide weather tents with climate control, battery power, sun-readable monitors, and tidy cable management. Our outdoor video villages stay comfortable and keep working across many conditions.

What about playback capabilities?

We provide pro playback systems with instant replay, multi-take review, and frame-accurate control. Playback feeds your video village monitors and can add VFX reference overlay and script supervisor tools.

Can you calibrate monitors to our color pipeline?

Yes. We calibrate reference monitors to your color standards and can apply your show LUT for an accurate on-set preview. Each village display shows your intended look, so creative calls stay accurate.

Productions in France that need this often pair it with Wireless Video Systems and Field Monitors for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Communication Systems and Audio Monitoring Equipment.
