Sound Recordist Teams
Complete sound departments for film, TV, and commercial productions throughout France.
A sound recordist team captures all production audio on set. They run the recording gear, place microphones, and track sound quality in real time. We build teams skilled across France's busy production scene, from Gaumont and Pathé features to Canal+ series and global co-productions in Paris and beyond. Most teams pair a production sound mixer, a boom operator, and a sound utility technician, who work together for full audio coverage.
We size each team to your needs, from single-mixer documentary setups to multi-person feature film crews. Our teams work hand in hand with French post houses and deliver audio that meets CSA broadcast standards and CNC needs. Each crew brings skilled sound pros with the right gear, so audio capture stays reliable across your whole shoot.

Coordinated production sound departments across France
You might be rolling on a Canal+ series in a Bordeaux warehouse, a Gaumont feature in the alleys of the Marais, or a documentary unit weaving through the markets of Marseille. In each case, our sound recordist teams arrive as one ready department rather than a stack of freelancers. Mixers, boom operators, and utility technicians who have shared trucks across many shoots read each other on the floor. They wire talent under wardrobe at the Palais Garnier, ride peaks during press conferences at the Élysée perimeter, and chase dialogue through wind-bent vineyards in the Loire Valley.
We size the crew to the work: a lean two-person team for vérité in Lyon's Croix-Rousse, or a full department with playback for a feature stage outside Bry-sur-Marne. Each team delivers reports and stems aligned with CSA broadcast standards and CNC tech specs. They hand footage to French post houses ready for re-recording. They also carry backup recorders, so a failed card never costs you a take. One booking gives you one accountable contact, with every speaking role covered for the length of your French shoot.
FAQ
Our Sound Team Network
What positions make up a sound department?
A full sound department usually has three roles. The Production Sound Mixer leads it and runs the recorder and the mix. The Boom Operator handles main microphone placement. The Utility Sound/Sound Assistant covers wireless, cable runs, and a second boom. Smaller shoots may combine roles, while larger ones add positions like Playback Operator or extra boom ops.
How do you determine team size?
Team size depends on how complex the shoot is—the number of speaking roles per scene, wireless needs, camera coverage, and the pace of filming. We check your production's needs and suggest crew levels that balance full coverage with a sensible budget.
Do your teams come with equipment?
We offer flexible options: teams with their own gear packages, teams with rental gear we source, or teams using gear the production supplies. Many of our mixers own full kits, while others prefer to work with rental gear.
Can you provide teams for long-running productions?
Yes. We support ongoing TV series, multi-week commercial campaigns, and feature films with steady sound team coverage. We can keep the same crew across your production for a consistent sound, or arrange rotating teams for longer schedules.
What about replacing team members during production?
We can arrange replacement crew if a team member becomes unavailable during the shoot. Where we can, we pick people who already know the project, and we make sure project details pass cleanly to the new crew so the sound stays consistent.
Do you provide sound teams for international co-productions?
Yes. Our sound teams are skilled at working with global shoots filming in France. They adapt to different workflows, blend in with international crews, and can work in English as well as French.
