Power Distribution Systems
Safe, reliable on-set power for film and TV production in France.
Power distribution systems route power safely from generators or mains to the lighting, camera, and production gear across a set. Pro distro boxes, cable runs, and breaker panels keep loads balanced, hold proper grounding, and feed safe power to each department.
We supply power distribution built around your production's electrical load and set layout. Our team works with your gaffer and best boy so the right capacity, cable lengths, and safety gear are ready at each location on your schedule.

On Location
On-set power distribution and electrical systems in France
Power distribution on a French production has to handle very different setups. A stage at Cité du Cinéma offers proper three-phase tie-ins. A Loire-valley château meters its mains, and preservation rules limit where cables can run. A remote Provence exterior has no grid at all. We supply main distros, sub-distribution, lunchboxes, quads, stage-pin systems, and European-to-US adapters from Transpalux, TSF, and Loca-Images. Each one is sized against detailed load calculations, so the lighting, camera, DIT, and video village departments all keep proper headroom.
Each setup is built around the real location. Super-silent and tow-plant generators from 20kVA through 500kVA cover sound-sensitive shoots. Battery-hybrid rigs handle dialogue scenes near Bastille. Full feeder cable runs with ramps and cable protection serve Bordeaux exterior work. Licensed French electricians manage tie-ins to venue power where it is permitted. Each cable and distro is PAT-tested with RCD protection throughout, and French electrical safety rules are followed without compromise. You receive a safe, load-calculated, fully tested power setup, backed by on-set electrical support every shoot day.
FAQ
Power Distribution Expertise
What generator sizes do you provide?
We supply generators from 20kVA to 500kVA, with super-silent units for sound-sensitive shoots. Larger power needs can run on multi-generator setups. Battery-hybrid systems and tow-plant units cover many location needs.
How do you calculate power requirements?
Our team runs detailed load calculations from your lighting package, your camera and DIT needs, the video village, and every other electrical draw. We also factor in startup loads and add proper headroom for safe, reliable operation.
Can you provide power at historic locations?
Yes. We specialize in powering shoots at France's historic locations, including châteaux, churches, and covered sites. Our team works with venue needs, runs the right cabling without damage, and keeps to preservation guidelines.
Do you handle tie-ins to venue power?
We set up tie-ins to venue electrical systems where it makes sense, working with licensed French electricians and venue tech staff. Our crew checks available power, arranges short-term connections, and disconnects safely once your shoot wraps.
What about power for remote locations?
For remote exteriors with no mains power, we provide full generator solutions that cover fuel management, noise control, and multi-day operation. Our team plans the logistics so power stays on across your whole shoot.
How do you ensure electrical safety on set?
All gear is PAT-tested and well-rated. We fit RCD protection throughout, use licensed electricians, and follow French electrical safety rules. Detailed records and safety briefings keep the crew aware.
