SCENE 01 / UNDERWATER FILMING
Underwater Filming
Professional marine cinematography with certified dive teams across France.
Underwater filming captures visuals below the water's surface. It leans on sealed camera housings, lighting rigs, and strict safety rules. The craft pairs camera skill with dive skill, and it yields footage for documentaries, feature films, ads, and marine research projects.
We run underwater shoots with certified dive teams and cinema-grade sealed gear. Our crew handles safety planning, gear sourcing, and site logistics, so your shoot captures striking footage below the surface. We hold tight safety standards for every member of the team.

Certified dive cinematography across France
France carries the underwater film torch lit by Jacques-Yves Cousteau aboard the Calypso. Our dive camera teams work the same Mediterranean depths that shaped his films. That means the Calanques de Cassis, the drop-offs around Île de Port-Cros, the coral coralligène off the Côte d'Azur, and the écueils of Marseille. North-Atlantic work runs out of Brest and the Brittany shelf. Freshwater shoots cover the Annecy and Léman lakes. Controlled-set work books into the deep tank at TSF Aubervilliers near Paris, plus the studio pools in Marseille and Nice.
Our crews are pro-grade INPP and CMAS-certified divers who also work as DPs. They frame a shot with composition, motion, and pacing in mind, not just a dry housing. We house RED V-Raptor, ARRI Alexa Mini LF, and Sony Venice 2 in Nauticam, Gates, and HydroFlex blocks. Each plan runs wireless surface-to-diver comms and deploys safety divers. We hold a clean record across narrative shoots and brand films for diving and water-sport clients. Our work also includes documentaries that ship to Arte and France Télévisions.
FAQ
Underwater Expertise
What cameras can you use underwater?
We run pro underwater housings for cinema cameras, including RED, ARRI, and Sony systems. Our team matches each camera and housing pair to your resolution, frame rate, and image quality needs.
Do you provide certified dive teams?
Yes. All our underwater crews are certified commercial divers with real film-set experience. Each team carries dive shooters, focus pullers, safety divers, and dive supervisors as needed.
Can you film in pools and tanks?
Yes. We often work in controlled settings such as swimming pools, purpose-built filming tanks, and studio water stages. These spaces are ideal for actor work, product shots, and scenes that need tight control.
What about actor safety underwater?
Actor safety comes first. We provide safety divers, breathing gear for longer takes, pre-shoot training, and clear comms kit. Non-diving actors can land striking underwater shots with the right support.
Where can you film in France?
We film across France. Southern French coastal spots offer clear water and marine life, Atlantic coasts bring dramatic settings, and many tank setups give controlled conditions. We'll suggest sites to suit your creative needs.
How do you handle underwater communication?
We use pro underwater comms kit, with in-water links for diver planning and surface-to-diver channels. Directors can talk to underwater crews and watch shots in real time.
